Our sidestripe shrimp are caught on board the F/V Netted Dreams in Wrangell, Alaska by Captain Tanner Smith. They're big, sweet, and the females have a special treat: bright orange roe (eggs) packed with Omega-3s. The roe is a delicacy and can be eaten raw immediately after thawing the shrimp. When cooked, they have a creamy texture, and the egg sack stays in tact. If you prefer not to eat them, you can scoop them out easily after thawing and discard.
These shrimp are frozen at sea, individually.
Alaskan shrimp are high in protein and low in fat and calories.
They're great boiled and peeled. Our favorite way to eat them is sautéed in butter and we eat everything but the tails.
Packaging: One pound bags. 16- 20 shrimp per pound.
Tails and shell on, heads off, some contain roe.
