Update from Bristol Bay- Wild Alaska Sockeye Salmon Season: 8-14-2018

Bristol Bay Sockeye Salmon 2018 is a wrap!

We had another phenomenal fishing season in Bristol Bay! The fish were late, but in the end, more sockeye salmon returned to Bristol Bay than ever before- over 62 million fish! It was the second largest harvest in history, with over 41 million fish caught.

We feel very fortunate to be a part of this fishery, especially on years like this one. It's incredible to see strong runs of sockeye salmon return year after year. A huge thank you to the folks at Alaska Department of Fish and Game, who do an exceptional job making sure this vital resource lasts for generations to come.

Here's an interesting link to learn more about this year's sockeye salmon run.
