Super Simple Smoked Salmon Dip

We eat most of our smoked salmon plain. We like to just throw a piece into a bag and eat it on the go. There's no need to cook it, just thaw and enjoy. If we're going to a party, we like to bring this smoked salmon dip. Smoked salmon dip is an Alaskan potluck favorite, especially in the fall, when everyone has time to smoke their summer catch.

INGREDIENTS

  • 8 oz. smoked salmon (1 of our packages)
  • 8 oz. cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp. minced fresh dill
  • 1 tsp. prepared horseradish, drained
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

PREPARATION

Cream the cheese in an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment until just smooth. Add the sour cream, lemon juice, dill, horseradish, salt and pepper, and mix. Add the smoked salmon and mix well. Chill and serve with crackers or sourdough bread.
